ThierryPasseron is Professor and chair of Dermatology in theUniversity hospital of Nice. He also heads the laboratory INSERM U1065 team 12,C3M, dedicated to the study of molecular mechanisms involved in pigmentationand melanoma.

He has been trained in Nice, France,and made his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute ofHealth at Bethesda, USA. He heads the University laser center in Nice. He ispresident of the Department of Clinical Research and Innovation of NiceUniversity hospital. He has been the vice-president of the regional instituteof cancer and vice president of the Côte d’Azur University. He has 14international patents with 6 licensed, and more than 345 publications inscientific journals (h-index 57). He has received many grants and awards,including the prize Robert Degos, the Galien prize (category Dermatology andCosmetology), and the prestigious Grand Prize Robert Debré for MedicalResearch. In 2021, he has been honored as Chevalier of the National Order ofMerit.

His fields of research includepigmentary disorders (including vitiligo and melasma), melanoma, hidradenitissuppurativa, alopecia areata and lasers.
